Legend of Mount Tangkuban Perahu

         Once upon a time in the land of Pasundan, West Java, there is a beautiful heavenly goddess.His name is Dayang Sumbi. He lived in a shack in the woods with a faithful dog, Tumang.

         One day, while weaving cloth, he loses one of the tools.Being tired of searching everywhere, Dayang Sumbi said to himself, "Anyone who can find the missing equipment and gave it back to me, if he is a man, I will make him a husband and if he were female, I would make his brother " .For a sense of shock, Tumang find tools and return it to him. Inevitably, Dayang Sumbi must fulfill its own promise to marry Tumang, who had been a man who has been cursed by the evil witch to be a dog.

Boars away safely.This makes Sangkuriang very angry, he killed Tumang.Then, he took out the liver of dogs and give it to Dayang Sumbi.

        After eating the liver, Dayang Sangkuriang Sumbi asked, "By the way, where Tumang?

He even forgot his name.

         One day Sangkuriang met a beautiful woman in the forest with whom he fell in love. Dayang Sumbi woman, who can not grow old because she is a goddess. Sangkuriang not recognize his own mother, but Dayang Sumbi recognize Sangkuriang of old scars on his head.

         Drunk love, Sangkuriang propose to get married.To avoid the forbidden marriage between a mother and a son, Dayang Sumbi asked him to make the lake and the boat in one night as a wedding gift for him.With the help of magical creatures of the forest, lake and boat building Sangkuriang.Dayang Sumbi know about it and he outwit Sangkuriang so that the work was not fully carried out.
